I think I would first consider the age of the dog. When Ziggy was younger we could not sleep past 6.. then he could stay until 9 (with a 4 am pee pee wake up break of course). Now, at a over a year old, he will sleep in with me until anytime, as long as we get up to pee, he's fine. Sometimes I get up before him and I'll also stay in bed with him until he's ready to get up.. He is a sleepy head.

So I think age helps and also they learn your patterns and will adapt to that.. I should add that I have insomnia so we generally sleep late, when we sleep early we also get up early.
