my little Bentley will be 1 yr old next month. He also whines around 5 am...we just open the crate and let him out...he does his thing thens hops on the couch and goes back to sleep...My other 2 used to do this as well...however they would want to get in bed with us..Now they won't sleep in a crate...they are 6 and 7 yrs old...they stay in bed with hubby until he gets up...
