 Puppy from "Old" sire

I have a question on Dogs. I think Akc say 8mo -12yrs for Males? But I want a pup from a breeder. The Mom is 4yrs her second litter but the Sire is ~10yrs?? Theres no know health problems with older parents??? Like sometimes in "Humans" At least I know he has no know "defective" genes?? Just checking if this is a problem. Thanks
