Default Yorkies in the Hospital ICU

Recently, Mother had a heart attack at 2:00 AM. I put my Yorkie, and my Dad, who has Alzheimer's, in the car for the hour drive as she was medivaced to a hospital in another town.

It was a hot day and I could not leave my dog in the car. I explained to the hospital staff that I would like to bring my small dog into the ICU as my Dad had alzheimers and I was afraid they would both get lost. They were in the car.

I lucked out, and they let me bring her in.

Has anyone else been able to do this? I fear this is going to happen again.

I really don't have anyone near that I trust to keep Sadie.

My thinking is that I may have to just keep her at home, even over night,
and leave water and food out. She won't use pee pads, so I guess I would have to deal with the mess when I got home. She has never had an accident in the house, except for vomiting.

I know I got lucky being able to take my dog into the ICU, and the next time it will be different.

Have any of you taken your pet into the ICU, and do you have any advice or tips for me?

Many thanks.

Kate
