My male could only stand one day of peace and quiet. The day of the operation, he slept for the rest of the day and the next day, he was right as rain again. I couldn't keep him quiet and although I kept an eye on his stitches, I don't think they need to stay quiet for that long for such a small incision.
I wouldn't take him for walks, but if it's been more than a day I'd let him out of the expen. Neutering is a really small operation.
