Have you ever watched the Victoria Stillwell TV shows about dog training? They are a poor stopgap to me & don't teach you as a good teaching book will but the first few years she did those are really fun to watch & you can see how well training can work. The series is called "It's Me Or The Dog". If you can rent, DVR or watch any of those, it would inspire you & show you a few things but reading a good training book to get some real canine insight will be your best bet.
