 I did a stupid thing
I love watching the dogs react to youtube videos and especially love watching Gracie (the exbreeder we rescued.) Whenever she hears puppies she comes running and does everything but backflips trying to find them. The other day she was on my lap doing her thing when the rest of the furbutts came in to see what was going on. When I went to put Gracie on the floor she started growling and trying to get loose so she could attack the other dogs! Talk about protective! I couldn't let her go because she was hell bent on getting one of them. Then she started shivering.I had to take her out of the room and give her to dh so he could calm her down.
I felt so bad for her. We think of these little females being bred over and over again and feel sorry for them but now I have even more reason to hate the breeder. I wonder how many puppies poor little Gracie has had and how hard she had to fight to keep them safe. I wonder how young they were when they were taken from her. I wonder how much she misses having puppies around.
It is just sad and I feel really bad about exposing her to such emotional turmoil. |
