At 10 weeks, I'd definitely keep the crate in your room so that you can hear him whining when he needs to go out. Toki could not hold it all night I want to say until she was 6 or 7 months. We now keep her crate downstairs in the kitchen at night and she is fine for 8 or 9 hours (if she really has to go, she will bark! but normally she can hold it all night with no problems).
