Yep, Jackson is a shy sweet boy. He's not usually frightened of people, just more aloof, and uninterested in making new friends or greeting every new person. I use the cue "go say hi" if I want him to approach somebody (or they want him to approach them rather) and he is usually happy to oblige and let the person give a quick pat on the head or scratch under the chin.

But this took a bit of work. He used to back away a lot, and seem scared, and shy away... but at about 1.5 years old, this changed. I did a lot of socializing, carrying around treats and bringing him out in public and around children. I also would take him to my cousins little league games and such, where the kids could give him some treats. He also loves performing his tricks for people, it really boosts his confidence!

I've seen him turn from a REALLY shy dog to more of a confident guy, but he still has a shy demeanor to him, which I've come to really love!
