Fifteen months ago I too found an old, sick, dirty, matted, toothless Yorkie gal, running down the road one cold, snowy night. I was just going to keep her for a few days, until we could find her home, or until the rescue could place her. Well, I can honestly say that she is one of the best things that has ever happened in my life. Everyone who meets this gentle soul falls in love with her, and I can't imagine my life without her. Your houseguest will need mushed up, canned food, or a good quality kibble softened in a bowl with some water. This will help him eat since he can't chew well. No teeth is why his tongue hangs out, since there is nothing to keep it in. He'll need a good vet check up, so that you know what you may be dealing with. A nice bath will help him feel better. Blow dry him if her shakes from the cold. He does not necessarily have cataracts. It could just be cloudy eyes, which is also very common in older dogs and does not affect their vision. Bless you for helping this baby. The world needs more people willing to love and care for those that are helpless. We are here if you need us. Please stay and let us know how you are both doing, and what the vet says. Again, thank you for all that you are doing for this baby. If you do decide to place her, let us know. There are several on here that are involved with Yorkie rescues who will know just what to do. Hugs! By the way welcome to Yorkie Talk. What are you calling him?
