Are you planning on showing or do you just want to grow a long coat. There's no way I'd wrap a pet yorkie, and it really is necessary for growing a long coat. I've been told that the number one secret to growing coat is to wash frequently; dirt is an enemy of hair. Use a good dog shampoo and conditioner and make sure you rinse well after shampooing. Joey easily grew out a long coat, but playing with other dogs really hurt it. It was a large Shih Tzu puppy who pawed his back when they played and you could see the hair breaking off. Wearing some type of protective clothing when playing with dogs might be a good idea, and I like the idea of wrapping jackets and silk beds, things that will protect the hair, yet not annoy the dog. |
