Puppy mills switch their litter registration papers around like they were playing cards. The could even breed a half breed with a full bred dog and get away with it. They still charge huge amount for those poor babies though.
Online sites and sellers that come up when you do a google search are puppy mills and backyard breeders. They are breeding genetically inferior dogs. The type of breeding they practice is what is causing so many deadly genetic problems in Yories as well as other breeds. You cannot just put any two cute dogs together and not bring forward many recessive genes that carry defects. These breeders advertize themselves as being legit but they are simply "greeders" that are out to make some easy money at the expense of the helpless animals.

I would encourage you to read as much as you can on YT about breeding. Go to the breeders section and read in the library. There are some very informed and experienced breeders here that hopefully can explain things in with better detail than I can. You are fortunate that you only have issues with your puppy's papers. You could have ended up with a very puppy. Many have.
