Oh how lucky for him to be able to just scoop her up. I've failed several times trying to wrangle up a stray. It's heartbreaking when I know it's time to give up.

She does look like a yorkie, an older one most likely. She could also be mixed with Chinese crested like you said. I've seen some older yorkie/CC mixes before and look very similar. The only way you can tell for certain is DNA test.
