I'm so sorry you and Peanut are going through this. I experienced the same thing. I know the guilt you feel. I gave Calleigh a little ice cream and some cream cheese every now and then. She had the same symptoms. I immediately took her to the vet. He did the tests also. She is just fine now. The vet put her on Purina, not sure which one, but she in on the Purina OM [overweight management]. She isn't heavy, but eats like a pig. She does have an extra pound on her right now. I give her carrots and lettuce which she loves. Also, green beans, apples, anything she can have that is good for her "without fat." Fat is the culprit.
I'm happy to hear Peanut is doing better. You just have to keep the fats away. Try not to beat yourself up. I'm sure you were just trying to make your pup happy. Now that you know, you'll be on the right track.
