My question is, today this afternoon she has seemed lethargic, just lying down on the hard wood floor, meandering to urinate, rather than being her peppy self.
Do hormonal changes assoc w pregnancy start this early / Is this typical behavior for a dog who most likely mated just a few hours earlier?
Thank you!

To answer your question NO. Not typical behaviour. Unless you have an incredible heat wave and she is suffering from a very mild form of heat exhaustion.
She really needs to be seen by a vet; the sooner the better. That chi may not have been the only male interested in her whilst she was gone an hour.
It is important that you find out the best way from your vet to insure she isnot pregnant, and there are no internal or other injuries that may account for her lethagry.
