As far as letting puppies go to their new homes at ages before 12 weeks, I've found out as well that it's not good for the puppy being that he/she is still bonding with siblings, in which in the past I have too purchased puppies that were of the age of 6 weeks, luckily I had younger dogs that he had to bound with. But from now I do understand and have witnessed the difference. As far as me telling someone else about the AKC, CKC differences, I am not one to judge, I don't have that right. I do know that their are some top breeders that have received puppies from other top breeders that have registered their dog in both registries and this has been going on long before me and probably will continue. I am still trying to figure out why and what's the beef between all of the different registry and why couldn't there be just one? So that I can pass along to my clients the difference and importance between them all. I actually thought that the UKC was the top of them all, like I say I'm still researching and learning. |
What do you mean you’re not one to judge? We have to judge things all the time! If your referring to the biblical quote, we aren't supposed to judge someone’s relationship with God we will be held accountable to the same standards, but you can and should judge other things. There are NO top breeders who register with anything except the AKC in this country, unless by "top" you mean high volume breeders, and yes millers register with CKC, not to be confused with the reputable Canadian Kennel Club. The Continental Kennel Club took those initials just to mislead people, doesn’t that tell you something? The alternative registries popped up because the AKC has thrown out many millers, and if a commercial breeder is breaking state laws the AKC can suspend them, so the millers just made their own registries. Also, the AKC demands accurate record keeping, and DNA proof if you are producing a certain number of dogs, again, many breeders cannot provide this, so they go for the registry that that takes the breeders “word” for it. Here’s some information on registries:
