I have all five of my dogs insured. It gives me peace of mind. They all started from pups so everything is covered. The max amount is £12,000 so I guess that should cover most things and is for life. My oldest dog is 14 and has diabetes, she would not be with us today if she were not insured. Her care must be around £ 40,00 by now and still being paid by her insurance. I think the main thing for you though is now that the girls are older, any existing condition would not be covered so I agree that a savings account and credit card for bigger emergencies would be best for you. Sorry to hear about the break up of your marriage but sounds like you have come through the other side. At least you got the girls.
