Give a yip noise and an ouch so your pup knows this hurts. Puppies learn for their mother and littermates what is acceptable nipping so you have to let them know nipping on you and others is not acceptable. Then give the puppy a chew toy so your puppy will know what is acceptable to bite. Eight years ago when I got Kirby she was only six weeks old. She didn't get the needed socialization from her mom and littermates that she needed. She nipped on us like crazy. This method helped. This time when we got Khloe she was almost 4 months old and it's such a difference. She knows not to nip on us. Get plenty of chew toys. When Khloe wants to chew something she should'nt we hand her a chew toy. Of course when Khloe tries to nip on Kirby, Kirby puts her in her place and Khloe stops. Those puppy teeth hurt.
