Yes retiring a female and re-homing her is very difficult. There are more than a few tears shed by the breeder. What I've observed so far with my breeder friends, is that often times (at least so far), they have been lucky and have been able to re-home to a home close enough to them, or to close friends.

Also many breeders do not often repeat breedings - ie same sire and dam. Particularly if there is a particular goal you have in mind from your breedings. Maybe you wanted to correct head, or bring in some size to your program.

I've not known with-in my breed to let all the dogs run free together....It is crate and rotate when necessary with this large breed. Ie: you have a female in heat. Also we do not allow free matings - too dangerous for the male. In fact more and more breeders are going to IV.

Awh well the internet has really changed a lot of things

Don't know this woman or her breeding program, but having a webcam on the internet for live births, is just not something I'd be comfy with myself.
