Honestly, I don't know what you could have done. We all have different personalities.
Personally, I would have stared with a horrified expression on my face at the puppy owner. I would NOT hide my shock and horror. If the puppy owner had words for me, I would reply with,"Sorry, you really shocked me."
Most likely, I would mention something to the vet and staff.
Poor puppy. Yes, puppies can be rambunctious, as children can be. But there are ways to calm down a puppy without abuse. Just my opinion. |
