This is an interesting thread.
I got my first Yorkie ten mos. ago and she was almost three years old then. The breeder retired her as she had a very difficult second pregnancy.
I met my breeder on the internet and inquired about her puppies. Well, I later decided I did not want a little runt running around urinating all over. Friends filled me in on that, as I had not had a puppy in over 40 years.
After telling the breeder that I decided against it, three mos. later she emails me about a female that she was going to retire. Said she would send pics if interested.
I got the pics and it was all history. She is perfect in every way, but then again, aren't all of them. LOL
The only thing I regret is that I see all of your darling pups, and I missed that stage of her life.
I emailed the breeder with every question I could possibly think of. She answered each and every question.
I then called her and we talked for an hour. I could tell she was totally obsessed with these darlings, and I really liked that. I think I interviewed her more than she did me.
It ended up well as she invited me to visit all of her pups,
and to meet the parents. It was great, and Sadie was the first one to run up to me.
I did talk her down $50 and she said this would be fair, and allow me to get her to the vet to be checked.
I keep in touch with her, and send her pics all the time.
I am such a wimp that when the lady took her out of my arms, and said, "I need time to say good-bye to her".
I ended up in tears, and she did not.
I really admire the breeders, as I could not part with the puppies.
Great topic.

I have learned so much from YT and when I get my second one, I will really be armed with ammunition.
