I already use distilled white vinegar to clean the mildew out of my showers (and bleach to remove the stain) full strength, and about 30-50% to clean floors (to keep the smell less and so there's water to loosen dirt), etc., so I would think you could use it for leather ear. I'm pretty sure I'd use whatever I 'had' on hand or whatever I 'chose' from the cabinet...lol...but I'd not use my favorite 'eating' salad vinegars.
