I already use distilled white vinegar to clean the mildew out of my showers (and bleach to remove the stain) full strength, and about 30-50% to clean floors (to keep the smell less and so there's water to loosen dirt), etc., so I would think you could use it for leather ear. I'd think you could use any dilution from 100% vinegar on a cotton ball to 50% in a spray bottle...I'd not spray it because I'd not want it misting into his eyes...but I doubt I'd dilute more than 50%. At 100%, the vinegar smell would be strong until the coconut oil went on at least, but even at 100% it shouldn't hurt him although it might sting a bit if there's an open wound. It would be most effective the higher the strength, however, but I think it's sort of up to you what kind you use and what strength. I'm pretty sure I'd use whatever I 'had' on hand or whatever I 'chose' from the cabinet...lol...but I'd not use my favorite 'eating' salad vinegars.
