I do agree it's harsh to call a food "sh.."! While I think RC is terribly over-priced for some of their formulas, and God knows Nancy and I have argued this before (but I still love you!) but RC is by far not, like, the most disgusting you could possibly feed or anything. I actually appreciate all their research that they've done, and I do think they are a trustworthy company (though I wish they would have their own manufacturing plant). Do I think all the seperate breed specific formulas, etc, are worth it? Not really. But some do *shrugs* and that's fine. It works for them. If I personally were going to feed RC, I'd probably pick a different breed specific formula - as I like the ingredients and the protein/fat ratios better on a few others. I will say most dogs I've seen, whether in real life or online, who eat RC have fantastic coats. My uncle's GSD is on RC large breed puppy.
If I were going to call a foot sh*t, it would be something like Ole' Roy, NOT RC. Even if it's not my top choice, it certainly does work for dogs, and I will respect that at least.
I definitely think ppl get too hung up on "stars". "Oh this is a 6 star food! So it's all good!" but those sites pay NO attention to where the food is produced, where the ingredients are sourced, etc, etc. So while I like them as a basis to find different brands, and comments, I don't hold too much merit with them. I mean, they have lots of Diamond foods listed in the 5 star/6 star category... and I don't trust them at all these days. |
