To me this signifies a) either the owners did not feed him enough or b) he had to have been out for at least 24-48 hours.

also if you haven't already do a through exam of him. Ears/eyes/mouth,genitals, belly, paw pads et al. I hope he was up to date on his shots; cause I wouldn't trust that blankety blank blank owner to have seen to that.

Christ you have to ask about heartworm meds - do you think he has been on them since your ownership? You might need a heartworm test. Sigh

So sorry this happened to you, but so glad you found him safe n sound.
I did have him taken to the vet this morning so we have further proof of their neglect. His weight was just .1 lbs less - but he was only 10 months old, so he should have gained some, and needed to gain weight then, and we clearly explained to them how to keep working with him, so while not proof legally of neglect, I'm not please he hasn't gained weight. Other then that he's ok. They had him a whopping 2 1/2 months! So shots aren't a concern - those where done in my care and are still current. Heartworm I don't worry about much there, it's not very common especially since they haven't had a good thaw for long yet. Most vets only advise meds at most 6 months of the year and many don't recommend it at all unless you're going out of town there.
