Giardia is caused by drinking contaminated water or ingesting contaminated fecal matter. The medication your puppy has been given is the first line drug that vets use in treating the condition. It is known to cause loss of appetite during treatment. There is another medication that can be used but since what you are using usually takes 5 days hopefully you can get her through without having to change meds. Make sure you clean any area where fecal matter has been with a strong disinfectant in order to prevent her from getting contaminated again.
