We used to breed German Shepherds and we got the craziest calls as well. The ones that ticked me off the most were the people who wanted to know if they would be mean, because they were looking for a guard dog. Well, hmmm, all of the sudden I had no pups to sell. Imagine that? We bred for tempermant and actually guaranteed temperment in our pups, and never had a problem. We had lots of people thinking we were asking too much, but oh well. Sometimes you have to interview a lot of toads to get your babies the right homes.
Another funny thing was the reactions we got to our contracts that we required. I think they thought they could give us the cash and just take the pup, but nope. It was several pages and several signatures long. I think that most people understood and respected how we felt about our pups and what was expected from both parties. |
