I have had several new parents that are/were college kids. I suggested they send out invitations to a puppy shower to all their friends. They each had puppy showers, had cakes and cookies from a doggie bakery, doggie ice cream, games, a bubble machine for the pups to chase bubbles, kong toys, someone tied a stuffed toy to a fishing pole....of course no hook was involved....and they would "cast" the stuffed toy out across the yard and then reel it in and the dogs would give chase! They loved it!....each friend brought a gift for the new "baby" and these kids had a ball and got some really useful items for their baby! (This was 3 different buyers, and 3 different pups, over several years)
