Our Yorkie's haircuts are just as important as our own. We indeed take it personal when the groomer(s) do NOT live up to our expectations.
It sounds like it might be time to find another groomer. Maybe take in pictures and communicate to the groomer exactly what you want then ask them to show you what they plan on doing with Ella. This way once the groomer shows you it will tell you if he/she understood what kind of cut you are expecting, etc.
Good Luck and atleast know that Ella's hair will grow back.
