I know about the clamp and twist method, but never seeing it done or someone showing me how to do it, I am afraid to attempt it myself. With that said I have always allowed the vets to cut the tails and clip the dew claws. There is always a bit of blood, nothing major and the pups fall asleep within a few minutes.
The pups are 3 days old, all doing well, eating, sleeping and whining just wonderfully.

He is a new vet to me, I have brought one of my dogs there for teeth cleaning, really liked him and his place of business, so I figured I would give him a try, as I was not happy with my last vet who told me my dog as glaucoma when indeed she had a tooth problem. =

We did not run any tests, I just feel like they went through enough today.

Thanks for input, I will question him further.
