Oh, of course I accept your apology & so sorry I took so long to respond but sitting up is really quite hard to do right now - feels like fire inside my hip so I've done none since yesterday p.m. until now. I have learned much about Yorkies and dogs, vet medicine in the short time I've been here from you so what you have to say is always important to me. The two cases I was comparing were due to a link on a page with an article about the Trayvon killing, the second case about kind of an opposite situation where a 22 year old black man shot an older Hispanic man of 28 walking his dog and that younger killer hadn't been arrested, but was questioned and let go by police, the writer of the news article stating it was reminiscent of the Martin case except the ethnicity of the killer and victim were reversed. It seemed to me that this case wasn't getting anywhere near the same degree of media & other attention or outage. In my heart of hearts, probably because my parents raised me to not make distinctions that one violent death is more tragic than a seemingly similar one, I still can't; and a society where media and even some leaders does sometimes seem to carry that bias in how they cover news is worrisome. I don't know, in the long run the cases might not have much in common but since there is no overriding coverage on the second case, I don't know more than those few details reported about the Daniel Adkins' shooting. And perhaps the second case will be covered just the same in a few days. But I assure you my feelings about the cases are based on seeming distinctions made about the tragedy of the terrible death of one victim and not the other by the media coverage/public outcry, where I thought both equally heartbreaking, rather than personal racial prejudice. Just the opposite.
