I'm laughing at your post because Scout does the same thing! He can jump vertically very high, but he refuses to go forward with it. Little Pippa who is older, wiser, but much shorter and smaller can leap up onto the couch with no problem...poor Scout looks pitiful on the floor until someone will lift him up onto the couch....sometimes he just jumps and jumps up in the air, but can never get forward to be on the couch...I just don't get it!
