What a cutie pie! I think you have to train a dog to like a topknot and bow, and this site has some good suggestions.
Top-Knot How To's - The Diva-Dog Bowtique Quote:
| Train a Puppy to wear a Dog Bow!
Start at a very young age, even if your puppy doesn't have much hair, you can still get her used to being groomed....
Consistency is the key...... Meaning everyday, even if you don't put a bow in the hair, be sure to have a grooming session, (brushing, combing and so on) be sure to use a command like "Let's fix your hair" at the start of each and every session....Make a game out of it... and be sure to reward after you're finished.....
When your puppy has just enough hair to put in a band, is a great time to start her getting used to pulling her hair up (be sure to band the hair each and everyday)... don't put the band in too tight.... You don't want her to notice anything is up there.....
Next, when she is used to wearing a band, you may start to put bows in her hair along with the band, start with the smallest bows possible, a 3/8" single loop would be a good choice.... She will get used to the weight of the bow in no time and you may make your way up in size of bow... maybe a 5/8" single loop.... She will get used to it also.... so now you have a puppy that will wear a bow with no problem.....
This technique will also work with an older dog that is not used to wearing bows.... Patience is also a good thing..... Good luck and happy bow shopping..... Teresa
