Question on size fo crate...thanks! Hello everyone! I just found this site and I must say I've enjoyed reading the articles...its been helpful to say the least!
We just got an 11 month female Yorkie a week ago. She came with a small travelling crate. The one that is built in hard plastic with small ventilation holes on both sides. There is definitely room for her to stand and turn around, etc. It looks like she is comfortable with it. She would actually go in there and sleep at night (with the front door open). We would leave her there when we go to work for about 5 to 6 hours.
My question is...should we get her a bigger crate? The one that is more open. Like a wired crate all around? There will be more ventilation for sure and more for her to see and walk around.
My wife says she is used to the travelling crate and we should stick with that. But I feel like giving our Yorkie more space and air.
Btw, as far as I am concerned, she is already potty trained. She does not make a mess in her crate and she knows to do it outside.
Any advise will be helpful. Thanks in advance! |
