I haven't really read if anyone has discussed this yet so I'm just wondering if anyone who has a yorkie with another dog has trouble training the yorkie (just to listen) because the Yorkie is too interested in the other dog? Ella loves my pomeranian Timber (5) so she follows him around, only listens to come when I call his name.

We have the exact same problem! Titus (my maltese x yorkie) followes my parents dog riley (a bichon x cocker) around and tries to get her to play with him. Riley still isn't too sure what to make of it, but is slowly comming around when we visit. We asked both my and riley's vet about what to do and the awnser was the same both times : Time. Make sure you are always watchign when they are together, they just have to get used to each other. your pom is probly used to being the only dog so you need to give him time, where as your yorkie is more used to probly playing with litter mates. it's ok if your pom does growl or nip ocassionally, just make sure it dosn't get out of hand or sound really mean. Riley does this to titus to show him who's boss, titus dosn't get put off by it but does calm down a bit after riley has set a barrier.
As for training to begin a command start with your yorkie along but we like to make it a game for reinforcment with both of them, this way riley can brush up on her training, and they take turns and make it a bonding game... sometimes riley helps and pushes titus's bum down when he dosn't sit fast enough for her!!!
