Silly or dramatic or not, I worry about tail-breaking or lacerating in a reckless dog such as my Tibbe is so I am very glad his was docked as a puppy. He, as a Yorkie will never have the sturdy tail of a Lab and the very reason they started docking the thinner Yorkie tale which is not carried over the back or curled but stretched out, was due to the many injuries the dogs sustained. When Tibbe can, he would go under lawn equipment or the low fence to chase a squirrel or cat in his yard. He doesn't know a Yorkie is no longer considered a ratter farm-dog and he would go through or under anything to catch his prey. Plus, I like the trim look of a docked tail.
