Some of the homes they've shown on TV that aren't totally destroyed have part of the side of the house missing or a large window/French doors/sliding door broken out and any dogs and cats in the house likely just bolted when the tornado and all those pressure changes and things flying about all passed. Some fences were down so poor outside dogs just could run out of their yards.
