Dogs Loose In Texas After Storm Damage To Homes!!! Local TV is reporting lots of animals from damaged homes and yards are out and running the streets. Local Animal Control agencies are all out and stretched to the limit. One lady they were just interviewing lost both of hers at first but has found one. If you live in the North Texas area, watch out for stray dogs and cats out running or hiding - they could be from areas of damage and as the owners get home from work and school, they will find they are gone. Take appropriate actions to report the find to your Animal Control and ask how they are going to work to find out if it is from a damaged home or place of business and proceed with caution. It would be such a tragedy if in two weeks some are put down because the shelter did nothing or could not find the owner and the dog goes unclaimed by a new family! Surely SPCA or some agency will step in to try to coordinate and administer the return of lost and scared, maybe injured animals to their rightful homes.
