We use T Bumpkins washable pads. LOVE THEM!!

My THREE go outside most of the time, but I have 4 pads out (one by the back door, one by the kitchen door & then 2 by the front door). This kind of "covers" the bases and also being by the doors, they have learned to go to the door when they gotta go (which helps with training if you want to teach them to go outside).

Because they don't get used that much I wash them 2-3 times a week. I DO spray the clean pee pad with "OUT" stain & odor spray from Walmart when I put it out and never have odor problems.
