I understand that is a breed standard - Jack's tail is docked and it is a cute little stub - honestly, I think it is too short... so I have already contacted a breeder and she knows that the sister we get for Jack will not have her tail docked. As far as dewclaws, yes, it looks painful but I do agree with having them removed as a puppy as they can cause problems if left on (can get snagged on something and tear and/or if the nail is not cut down, it will grow and curl around and grow back into the skin).
