The day that Gracie left with the cable guy is the day that I decided she would never be without her collar and ID tag. I had put her in my daughter's bedroom while they guy was there working on some issues we were having with the router. He had to keep going in and out and she was sure he was there to see her. Unknown to me my daughter let her out of the bedroom. One of the times he opened the door to go out she slipped out the door with him. He never noticed. When he was leaving about 15 or 20 minutes later he found her way up by the road. We live back in a wooded area. Thank God he picked her up and brought her home. She was about 6 months old at the time. I did not even know she was outside the bedroom! There are just so many unexpected things that can happen. We do our very best to protect these babies but then nothing is ever 100% foolproof in this life. Thankfully I still have my Gracie but I still shudder to think what could have happened that day. At least an ID tag can speak for these babies that can't speak for themselves. An ID tag is not 100% effective in protecting our pets but it is a useful tool.
