to funny I think the same way but would never say it. I am pretty up tight about cleaning and normally can't start the day unless everything is picked up, swept and in it's place, so I totally get it. One time I had the sweetest friend that was going to watch one of my yorkies for about a week and I knew he would get good care and attention. Since he could not be trusted she was going to put pee pads in her guest bathroom when she had to leave which would only be for a few hours at a time. When I dropped him off I used the bathroom and the floor was pretty dirty with dust bunnies everywhere. I was horrified that I would have to leave him in such a dirty place. So I grabbed tissues and toilet paper and started cleaning the floor and the woodwork. However that being said it was my little secret and I mentioned nothing to her. Believe me you DO NOT want to tell anyone they must clean the floors before your dog comes over, in most instances you just need to be lucky they allow it. I have seen people with very dirty houses not allow dogs to come inside. Like the poster before me said, just keep your dog close at hand, on a leash, or in your lap until you are sure of the conditions, you could always turn the tables and say you don't trust him in strange places and so forth, or that he is prone to chewing and at this stage you prefer to keep a close watch on him. |
