Wheatens are hunters partial to rabbits. A dog's eyesight is not that great and easily will mistake a yorkie for a rabbit. Wheaten's have a very high prey drive. Unfortunately the Yorkie would be the prey. |
What? I've never ever heard of that before.
The Yorkshire Terrier also has high prey drive, but though my yorkie was nothing but good to my mice for example.
My yorkie sometimes plays with a Wheaten and they are nothing but friends.
He also has few rottweiler friends, dobermans, schafer friends and more I've never seen a dog mistake him for a prey.
Dogs know whats a dog and what not if they are raised around other dogs, both small and large, they should not mistake a dog for prey.
Go ahead and buy a Wheaten from a good breeder, remember to always buy a puppy that has parents that are temperament tested (all breeders should temperament test they're breeding dogs, always, to make sure that the puppy's will be good temperamented.)
Good luck !
