Sophie Kate and I go to a the park all the time, we have a specific small dog area for off leash play.
A few things I have learned about Sophie Kate at the park is she does not like a lot of dogs or humans around, about six dogs is all she can handle. Also she always picks one buddy and pals around with that dog but she keeps checking to make sure I am close by.
I have had a few incidents where a owner of a large or medium size dog has come into the small dog area. In every case they have been asked politely to leave, in most cases they do but there is always a fe who want to argue that their dog gets along better with small dogs.
We have had more of a problem with people bring in dogs who are not neutered (there is a rule that all dogs must be spayed and neutered). In those cases it is brought to the attention of the dog park supervisor who promptly asks the dog to leave.
