I will not spay a dog before the growth plates close and research indicates this is at 12-14mths month' which is probably a safe timeframe for the toy breeds. And actually there is no guesswork involved, one lateral view of the tibial plate done by Xray can tell the vet if that growth plate has closed and if it has then as this is the last growth plate to close all others have.
Do yorkies usually retain teeth? So would I have to get them pulled on one date and then spayed on another? I was hoping to kill two birds with one stone in terms of anesthesia use.
