Juvenile spaying IS an issue. And at 15-20 wks they are juvenile.

And there will be a widely varying opinions on this. My opinion is outside the norm for this forum, but it is I believe an informed one, and one that honors my belief in giving each pup the chance to mature to their full boney potential

I will not spay a dog before the growth plates close and research indicates this is at 12-14mths month' which is probably a safe timeframe for the toy breeds. And actually there is no guesswork involved, one lateral view of the tibial plate done by Xray can tell the vet if that growth plate has closed and if it has then as this is the last growth plate to close all others have.
