My client stopped talking to me or emailing me with updates on my precious boy because of this. Went looking and found a "smaller" puppy. It's devastating as a breeder to go through this. All I'm trying to do is produce healthy babies who are not sickly, and are good examples of the standard. I can't control the world. And I would never intentionally breed my babies down to try to please the "select few" out there who want that. There are plenty of "questionable" places to look outside of my loving home. I have small babies from time to time. But I'm not striving for that!
I haven't heard "cobby" used before. Thumbs up to good breeders like you. If it was me and someone emailed me ONLY concerned about weight and made it seems SO IMPORTANT that it would be tiny IMO wouldn't even deal with them. What happens if it does get "too big" for that purse? Are they going to be too embarrased to "return" it and bring it to a shelter? I feel so sorry for that little dog, and I bet you wonder what ever happened to him. Sorry but people like that are the reason why so many people are breeding tinies these days-the tiny size and that extra $$ is the only important thing to those bad breeders and their customers who see dogs as a fashion trend.
