The recipe below is how I make mine, feel free to alter or add your own personal touches. If you have any questions, pm me. Enjoy Ingredients: 1 1/2 lb potato
1 onion
1 carrot
1 celery
8 oz diced smoked ham
3 cloves garlic
3 tbsp butter
1/4 cup flour
4 cups chicken broth
2 cups water
1/2 cup cream
salt and pepper to taste
cayenne
chives Instructions: Dice veggies, ham, and cube potatoes
Melt butter to a light golden brown over medium heat
Sweat the vegetable with sliced garlic for about 5-6 min
Add flour to form a roux and cook for about 3 min
Pour in chicken broth and simmer 15 minutes
Place potato in crockpot and transfer the rest on top
Add water and set crockpot to setting of your choice
When potatoes are soft give it 8-10 smashes to thicken
(Skimming the butter is optional)
Add salt, cayenne, and black pepper to taste
Pour in a dash of cream
Garnish with fresh chives |
