This is all so very sad. This kind of thought process, or lack there of, KILLS the souls of people that have dedicated their lives and are passionate about the study of genetic disorders, pedigrees, what pedigrees you can mix with excellent results, and pedigrees you dont dare mix because of the dogs in that pedigree, going back past 15 generations, you double up and triple up on genes that then become dominate and you produce genetic disasters. We are active in research, study genetic markers, study pedigrees, study lines, donate large sums of money to have these diseases marked and irradicated from our precious breed....so far in over our heads financially, trying desperately to see that the diseases that plague our precious Yorkies are cured ...... To see people think they can go buy a couple of dogs they know absolutely NOTHING about, from someone they know NOTHING about, know NOTHING about what is behind these two dogs, are not even sure the dogs are REGISTERED (!!! OMG !!! They claim they know about breeding because they have 'done it before'....but they dont know you can not submit a blood sample to get a dog registered with the AKC?????!!!!!)), forget a basic pedigree, are CLUELESS about what line each dog is predominately from.....and then you have people defending this as "It's OK, she isnt doing it for the money"....or "Its OK, she has a 'right' to do this"...or "Its OK, she is going to give the babies away"....I could care less about ANY of that, including her "rights"....WHAT ABOUT THE WELFARE OF THE BABIES???....WHAT ABOUT THE BABIES????????? It is YOUR "RIGHT", no, it is your RESPONSIBILITY to be certain, to the very best of your ability, that you are going to produce babies that are not going to SUFFER AND DIE because YOU wanted to "be a breeder".....shame on you.....it just breaks my heart for all the little puppies.....shame, shame on you. I think it should be a law, if you produce a sick puppy, you have to do absolutely EVERYTHING that is known to medicine, to save that baby. No culling, no "giving it away" and then disappearing into the sunset....by the time these people had spent a huge sum of money, trying to correct the mistakes they were responsible for, their "heartfelt desire to be breeders, their 'right' to be breeders" would vanish like a puff of smoke.......shame on all of you..... |
