What I meant was making sure the dogs are healthy and that you are financially prepared for the burden of raising pups. I mean you are going to have a lot of extra vet bills for the care of the mother. I agree that there are many things to be considered and that the process should not be entered into lightly. I suppose that one of the main concerns is that none of the puppies wind up contributing to the shelter problem.

I am not saying that having puppies is for everybody, I am just saying that it can be done and done right.
