Please take a walk through your local shelters. Most city run shelters are having to destroy hundreds of dogs a day. Across the country there are thousands upon thousands of dogs being destroyed daily. Mixed breed and pure bred dogs are all being destroyed daily because of irresponsible breeding and irresponsible owners. It may be "fun" to have some cute little puppies in the house but what about the future of each one of those puppies? Are the new owners going to be able to keep that pup when they have to move or when one of their kids get allergies, or how about when the puppy gets sick or injured? Are they going to be able to pay for hundreds and even thousands of dollars in vet bills? There are 110 different reasons why people either dump their dog at the end of some lonesome road or take them to the shelter.
As hard as many people work to rescue homeless and abused animals there are always more needing help. So many of them these days are the result of some person thinking it would be fun to make some money by mating a couple of purebred dogs, not necessarily of the same breed. Then that cute little pup that someone got for a bargain grows up to be much bigger and not as cute as they thought it would be or the pup has a genetic problem that they can't afford to treat and so it ends up in the pound. Many people have no idea how much work and time that it takes to have a well behaved dog in the home and when the dog grows up and is still peeing in the house and destroying people's property, guess what? Another homeless dog. With millions of dogs and cats being destroyed yearly and others being abused and on the streets I hope you understand why people who have taken the time to educate themselves get upset when people act so casually about having a "fun" litter of puppies. I realize that many people mean no harm but truly if people want their kids to have fun with puppies they need to take them to the pound and let them play with the little darlings that will probably never see a loving home because there just are not enough people who will care for them.
